Summary:
Perform maintenance and repair work on automated industrial machinery and equipment.
Use appropriate tools and test equipment for diagnostics and repairs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Other duties may be assigned.
Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
Performs all electrical work in compliance with the National Electric Code.
Performs emergency repairs in a timely manner to offset excessive downtime and production delays.
Performs equipment calibrations for temperature and pressure sensors and transducers.
Use appropriate tools and test instruments to diagnose, isolate, and correct malfunctions.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electronic hydraulic valves, electronic pneumatic valves, electrical/electronic equipment.
Diagnose and replace defective PLC I/O cards.
Diagnose and replace defective temperature controllers, including transferring parameter sets into the new controllers.
Diagnose and replace defective pressure controllers, including transferring parameter sets into the new controllers.
Diagnose and replace defective Variable Frequency Drives, including transferring parameter sets into the new drives.
Diagnose and repair various fieldbus communications including ProfiBus, ProfiNet, DeviceNet, RS-485, MODBUS RTU, MODBUS TCP, and others.
Performs backups of HMI's, PLC's, VFD's, and process controllers.
Restores backups of HMI's, PLC's, VFD's, and process controllers for the purpose of replacing defective equipment.
Performs PID tuning and adjustments for optimizing process controllers.
Read PLC Programs for diagnostics and Troubleshooting.
Must be able to work with Siemens Step 5, Siemens Step 7, Allen Bradley SLC 5, Allen Bradley MicroLogix and others.
Apply Ohm's Law for advanced troubleshooting of electrical malfunctions.
Correctly identify, adjust, or replace limit switches and sensors.
Comply with safety procedures including Lock Out Tag Out.
Any activity that is required to maintain ISO certification.
Perform other duties as required.

EDUCATION and/or
Experience:
Vocational or high school graduate necessary plus a formal accredited apprenticeship or equivalent trades training required.

years related experience in a manufacturing setting and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Read, analyze, and interpret blueprints, mechanical and electrical schematics, and machine drawings.
Read, analyze, and interpret technical documents.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as using Ohm's Law for troubleshooting.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to troubleshoot logic such as relays, directional control valves, and automated sequences.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Organized and able to archive all necessary documents, drawings, and information.
Eagerness to grow in this position.
Exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with employees, colleagues, and supervision.
